For the love of cars on C4

Anyone see this last night? A bit of a wheeler dealers rip off but nice to see the Mexico restored. I do love the Fast Fords and would love one of these sat in my garage.

Yes
i thought it was interesting - Land Rover episode looks interesting

Ford Escort Mexico - Mate used to have one (well it was badged a Mexico) with the non factory option of a large gaping hole in passenger footwell - sold it for £500 and 3 months later it was totally overhauled and painted and re-sold for £4k

it did look as if it had about £5K of parts and labour - re-built out of Love Wink no profit allegedly Rolling with laughter '54 Adriatic Blue Vogue

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

I drove my neighbours one last week, mint condition. We are taking a few of his cars to a show next month, so I will get a longer run, which should be fun.

Bit of a difference to the Rangie! Forgot what's it's like to not have power steering! Confused Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

My very first car was a Mk1 Escort, sadly not a Mexico, but a rather fetching 1.something in a fetching metallic brown tone. Confused

Managed to seize the engine on the way back from seeing Queen at the NEC in Birmingham in 1979ish, when I didn't notice the temperature guage was through the roof after the radiator burst on the M6 Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I did - Wasn't so keen on the green paint they stuck on it ...

Makes you realise though what the salt on our roads does to the cars - That one had been in Tanzania and the Chassis was "better than cars 3-4 yrs old" or something like that ...

Back home in Kenya we have loads of late 70's early 80's range rover classics on the roads - All still going strong! African Bush Junkie ... in London!

I liked how they didn't want to over restore it, and put dents into the panels and orange peel paint to make it more factory like!

Seen them both. I tend to watch most car stuff on TV, even the American stuff on the history channel etc.

The Mexico was very nice. Though I'd have had 4 Cibie spots on it. My mum had a mk1 1300xl estate when I was a kid. I'd have a mk2 if I had a choice, but that's prob because I saw more about and more rallying due to my age.

People sometimes ask why I've never built a kit car, and my reply is that I'd prefer to build an escort rally replica from a bare shell........non standard parts, faster, better, stronger........

Liked the land rover. Looked a good honest vehicle, but not sure I could live without modern comforts. If I ever have a proper landie, it will be jacked up, big tyres etc......

Looking forward to the Stag. I really would like one of those, or a GT6......,
