Bluetooth Music not possible with iPod plugged in

I usually listen to music from my iPod which I keep in the centre cubby.

When I got the L405, I was pleased to find that I could stream music straight from the iPhone and, if I plugged it in to the USB socket, the iPhone would appear as an iPod. The infotainment allows you to switch sources between the Bluetooth or plugged USB source.

I then plugged my iPod into the USB socket thinking I could now have two music sources - iPod and iPhone. I then couldn't get my phone to connect to stream music. Lots of fiddling but it turns out this is an "either or" situation - you cannot have an iPod plugged in AND stream music from an iPhone. As soon as you unplug the iPod, you can start streaming from the iPhone.

Just for reference. Took me a while to work this out.
