Dangerously close to securing a 2010 5.0 S/C via a main agent. Not all non-franchised dealers are bad, but Saxtons are in a class of their own Censored Censored Was looking at the new RRS as the performance figures for the 3.0 diesel are better than my current 4.2 S/C, but the shape of the L322 is just a real classic....and the split tailgate of course Smile SDV8 AB MY 2019

Hey Andy B, is that Offham car park in your avatar & do you park at BG train station?

Not that I'm a stalker...

I take the kids to the swings there quite a bit & always look at your SC! Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Hi Piecost!

Spot on with all your observations! I live just opposite the car park and the recreation field. No 3 Rose Terrace. Yes, BG station Car Park is it's home in the week.

Call in for a cuppa anytime Very Happy

May soon be a black 5.0 if I can cut a deal tomorrow with Harwoods Smile

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

I just did some 4000 kms in my new 5.0 SC and coming from the 4.2 SC I can only say it was absolutely brilliant. The 5.0 SC is soo much better (I do have the AB version as well) than the 4.2 and that is not a slough either. I had absolutely no issue with the car for the entire week, just filled the tank on a regular basis and kept going. I never realized how much better the 5.0 is relative to the 4.2 (mine is a May 05 version and the 5.0 is a July 10 version so pretty big time gap as well).

The 5.0 has actually got a lot more miles on it than the 4.2 but it just feels soo much better, faster, quieter, nicer etc.

I would never consider a diesel anymore. Just before I got this 5.0, I "bought" a 3.6 TDV8 but it turned out to have a blown turbo (that was going to be replaced by the selling dealer) but I just didn't trust why the turbo blew other than that there are quite some issues on the forum with the TDV8 engines and none with the SC engines.

So I decided that I'd rather go for the bullet proof SC engine and accept a bit more fuel cost. I just love the 5.0 SC soo much that any other engine, even a 4.2, will no longer do. The effortless acceleration is just magic. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Hi Skot, thanks again for your advice on an earlier thread about which model to go for when moving from a 4.2 based on my usage profile.

Hi Eugene, I currently have a 2006 4.2 S/C and have today driven and put a deposit down on a 2010 5.0 S/C. I agree entirely, the difference is amazing. The take off from standstill feels like it wants to shred the tyres! And the handling around corners is much better. Couple of pics :

Andy, I've bought my last two FFRRs from Ongar Bridge and am very happy with their service.

I'm away at the moment and was going to look at what is now your car if they still had it when I got back, as it looks like a lovely car at a good price.

Enjoy Thumbs Up

And thanks so much for your views XJS, I have not dealt with Ongar before so I was taking a leap of faith! I was wary of Essex dealers after the Saxton 'experience' a couple of years back but I was pleasantly surprised. Also they seem like a nice family run Company without the Censored you get from main dealers. My experience today was very good and Nick the salesman was genuine and keen to cut a deal.

Cheers,

Andy, I cannot recommend Ongar Bridge highly enough, I have dealt with Nick & the team there for 11 years after falling out with my local stealer and Nick saved me thousands on the cost to change my P38 to a new L322.

I live near Watford, yet they come and pick up my car, service, MOT & look after it for me.

I am sure that you will continue to be pleasantly surprised with their service and enjoy your new car.

Best,

Cliff Thumbs Up
