Unlocking All Doors with Drivers Door?

I picked up a 2012 FFRR Westminster yesterday (green with black interior, thanks for asking). Even coming from a long line of Discovery's I'm still shocked at how big it feels but really enjoyed the two hour drive home. Feels like a proper 'grown up' car.

Is there any way of setting the locking so that when you pull the inside drivers door handle then all of the doors unlock? At the moment it is set so that you pull the drivers handle twice to release the door but then have to press the button in the middle to unlock the others.

Sorry, tried the search but couldn't see an answer. Any advice greatly appreciated.

IIRC there isn't unless its hidden in the CCF and i've missed it but i think that locking section covers using just the fob and drive away locking. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

IIRC, this is the designed behaviour and can't be changed. I believe it's for added security to avoid car-jacking, by someone opening the passenger door as you get out the drivers door. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Blimey! Thanks for the quick replies.

Looks like it's something I'll just have to live with.

sounds like you have 'auto lock' enabled...do the doors lock automatically at around 15 mph?, if so then the dealer can switch this off .... the iidtool does this as well but you'd have to check with the gap chaps.. ... - .- -.

IID can do that Stan, but it's only auto-lock. Nothing can do auto-unlock.
I looked into this when I first got my car, as my E60 BMW used to auto-unlock all the doors when you turned the ignition off, so my assumption what that the RR would as well having so much BMW electrics in it, but alas no.
The issue with disabling auto-lock is that you either drive around with all your doors unlocked, or remember to press the centre locking button every time you drive away. I prefer it have the car lock the doors for me. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

with a 2012 you can turn off drive away locking in the dashboard controls (its in the manual). You cannot though set it to open all the doors from just the drivers door handle. Only solution is to disable the drive away locking, but that measn all the doors stay unlocked - not good at traffic lights with a handbag or laptop on the seat.

PLUS, 25 years ago, I once stopped at a junction late on a Saturday night in my RR Classic, when some plisshead opened the passenger door, got in and demanded to be taken home. I obliged! he was not the sort to argue with - plus the police station was the opposite direction - I very quickly considered my options / risk assessment and decided to drop him off at home Censored

now I would roar off with the door open before he could have got in!

opposite to you Alan, mine had it enabled when i brought it and i got fed up with having to pull the handle twice, and passengers that didnt know this would have to be told how to get out... ... - .- -.

I'm living in Camberwell. I think I'll keep the auto lock option enabled!

If I've got passengers, I just press the button under the hazard switch. I don't always remember to do it though!
