Car thieves

My neighbours 520d was stolen this morning at about 4.45am. I know this because I was fast asleep and my missus was up to have a shower and heard some noise outside but assumed it was the neighbour heading off to work as he frequently does at that time or so I'm told. We live in a quiet cul de sac with only 3 houses so they would have to have possibly tried my house also. Apparently my neighbours always leave their keys on a table just inside the door. They used a rod with a magnet and torch to reach through the letterbox and get the keys. First time it's happened since living here in almost 9 years. I will be wrestless now for a few weeks thinking that might come back for my fullfattrr. Unfortunately I have to park on the street but always have keys hidden and away from prying eyes. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

This is becoming a near Daily occurance up here these days. I worry more about how I'd react if I caught them in my house or my Rangie.

Must move my keys !

Also, the BMW has a known security flaw...
The scrotes buy a gadget and blank programmable keys off eBay.
Recode that new key to your car and drive away !

Loads taken round here, made the papers and TV Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

it seems this is the easiest way for them to steal cars nowadays, grab the keys and just drive off.

its also surprising how many UPVC type doors are left unlocked..the police and council did an active evening survey around my area and 75% of doors were left unlocked .. ... - .- -.

If you have UPVC doors with just a standard barrel type lock fitted, without going into any detail on the forum (and i'm sure most of you already know about this anyway) a perp can get into your house in less than 30 seconds with very little noise / damage. I have tried this on a test house and even for a muppet like me, its very easy.

I used to be a house building site manager for George Wimpey PLC, and this method snaps the barrel and has been in circulation since at least 2005. It is a serious problem.

I had anti-snap barrels and reinforced handles fitted on all my doors at home and work as I saw too many customers houses turned over to get the car keys to ignore it. I also have a secret (very secret) switch on all my cars so even with the keys you cant start the engine without using the switch first.

These scum need to be shot, they're ba Censored ds
