Bonnet Release catch

Have had a wee problem.
I pulled the bonnet release lever this morning for the
weekly chaecks and snapped the cable.
Is there anyway to get the bonnet open?

Cheers in advance. 15MY SDV8 Vogue SE

Not sure on the FFRR but I did a similar thing on my D3. Sorry to report that I needed a ramp so I could poke my arm up from underneath and persuade it with a screwdriver. The worst bit is there's 2 catches on these large bonnets. Mucho scratched arms and skinned knuckles I'm afraid.

If you can get to the cable anywhere along its length then you can give that a good tug (it's broken anyway) which has been known to work - my old Jensen Interceptor, but of course, other stuff in the way might get damaged. For sure it'll break those clips which hold it in place.

How far up has it actually broken?? If it's not too far you might be able to cut back some of the outer which is inside the car and then pull on the inner with some molegrips.

Best of luck.

Sorted
Dug thencable from the outer cover.
Mole grips.
Booked in for repair and further hoses so I don't need to check daily. 15MY SDV8 Vogue SE
