Australia 2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Zambezi Silver
Things to do on a UK holiday in August

I am visiting the UK for three weeks in August and I am looking for interesting things to see. I'll be staying with relatives in Bristol and Cheltenham and will have access to a car for day trips.

Is it worth visiting the Land Rover factory? and the Morgan factory?

Things I am into:
Cars
Planes
Industrial History
Pubs
Mountain Biking and Hiking.

Thanks in advance.

Plenty of things to do, but as you are in Bristol, down in Bristol docks you can visit the SS Great Britain, the first large ocean going screw propelled iron hulled ship built by Isambard kingdom Brunel in 1843 (he was famous for building the Great Western Railway).

Also in Bristol docks is Concorde prototype 002, well worth a look.

At Clifton, a Bristol suburb, is the Clifton suspension bridge, perhaps best viewed from the river on a boat trip, and there is an interesting Camera Obscura on the hill near to the Bristol end of the bridge.

No doubt others will offer many more suggestions than you will possibly be able to complete in 3 weeks, but above all enjoy your Holiday. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

Kemble airfield nr Cirencester (former home of the red arrows) has lots of buccaneers and other Cold War a/c lying around and jumbos being dismantled as well as being an active airfield.

Forest of Dean is great for mountain biking and black mountains/ Brecon Beacons for hiking.

Castle Combe race track is just down The road from me and features lots of saloon car and specialist racing. You can even take your own road car on some Days! Bring a spare set of tyres for getting home on! Rolling with laughter
