France 2007 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

And you lot thought that you were LR enthousiasts...? The owner of this car has just ordered his 29th land Rover... They have 4 of them in the garage. That sounds serious. They even have reached the same level of madness as my wife and son and me, they give pet names to their cars. Embarassed

@craig, yes I was looking for an SC, but this one looks so nice, and here in france we have a drivers licence with 12 points to start with. Every speed ticket is at least 2 points and they don' give them but take them away. Big Cry
Being used to the BMW engine in my FFRR I think this one will be a leap forward already, with the better gearbox etc.

Gaz you deleted an earlier reaction, how painful was it that you had to delete it? am I pricewise very unwise?

My views on cars that have LPG would not have been appreciated by some Wink

It does sound like the bloke is a bit of a Land Rover fanatic!

Like the others have said, as long as the LPG works properly then it should be good. I've read somewhere that these engines have soft valve seats which can cause problems when running on LPG. One solution is to use flashlube which it should have on it if the installer knew the product.

The other option is one offered by JE Engineering. They can replace the valve seats with hardened ones which stop this problem.

Multipoint LPG can be a right sod if it doesn't work properly unless you find someone who knows what they're doing with it. I have heard that the key to keeping the LPG running is an annual service on the system the same as you would with the car itself.

LPG wouldn't stop me buying a car if it had the original installation receipt and certificate for insurance. The next L322 we buy (probably a SC but a NA AJV8) I'll be looking for without LPG as I don't want the added complexities of the multipoint system compared to the single point that's on both our P38's. The other reason is because the car we buy will be doing 4k miles a year so there's no benefit to LPG.

It certainly doesn't sound like the seller is short of cash or is likely to have scrimped on maintenance if he's an enthusiast like that! Thumbs Up

Thanks gaz, each his own Thumbs Up

I have read the same thing on this Jag engines and lpg David, also about liners that come out of the cylinders. Horrible story.

I started driving lpg somewhere in the early eighties, when I did a 70 k miles a year and never had big problems. In the early days you could not drive on lpg when it was freezing because the gas distributer would change in to one block of ice. Now the systems are so far better developed and the multipoint injection so effective, my Range never had any issue except when the system was not serviced every year.
