Privacy glass

Just wondered what peoples thoughts are these days on the privacy glass.
Looking at a TDV8 tomorrow which is currently clear glass all round. I noticed on the Monkey Harris SC thread he found 2 cars in his search and mentioned the clear glass on both as if this was a preference.

Is clear the new black?

Clear clear clear !

The designer of the original - of which all later ones are based upon - was obsessed by all round vision, hence the big windows Cool
Also, you don't get the floating roof effect if you make it look like a van Rolling Eyes

Personal taste, yes. But if you have it - you're wrong. Full stop.

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

I have a slight tint from the b post and lighter on the front ( legal tint). years ago on my old discovery 1 I had very dark tint from b post for traveling round abroard, was fine till I came back home to blightly....driving round in winter nights was a Censored . reversing is a pain as its hard to see out. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Mixed opinion then.....

The car I'm going to look at is Black with Ivory and the clear looks good in the pics.

If tomorrows car is a dog jayboy I may be in touch. Is it in the For Sale section?

I've had both....
If its factory tint, it's far superior and it has a fantastic heat radiant effect in the summer (especially good of you are the sort that leave pets in the car)
If its retro fit (it's too dark and you can't see through it easily but you can peel it off....

My mate (who works at a main dealer) says if they order a car for stock they always specify clear as you can always retro fit it if the customer wants it.

Me personally - it's great in the summer, so I would have it factory fit every time...

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

I have factory tints and its great. My car is silver and I think it they look good with the light body colour.

Stops people seeing what's in the car and keeps the interior cool in summer, which is great as we have an 18 month old baby - go somewhere in the wife's BMW and we're forever faffing with sun blinds....

It does make reversing at night more difficult! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Mine's tinted as well and I love it. Keeps people from looking in and seeing me or my stuff. Also, it helps a little for us with 110° summers. 2007 Range Rover Supercharged

Clear but with window shades from Van Style (I think) the shades are much much more effective with the vicious sun here and in winter or just darker days I can just pop them back in the bag. Thumbs Up 2008 MY Supercharged
