IID Tool Errors

I have gotten my IID tool working and run a check of faults, cleared all and then run again but I seem to be left with several faults about lost communications, as these normal or do they potentially indicate major problems. I will try and make a note of them all and post in due course. Car seems to be running OK. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Hi Rej

Faults codes with the U prefix and “lost communication with …” descriptor are often present on these vehicles. They should be left alone unless there is a real issue with a system. These faults will register from time to time for no apparent reasons.

Cheers

Thanks, that has put my mind at rest a bit. I will double check when I have time to record all the codes for any that look different.

Is there a list of codes and their meaning anywhere? There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Hi Rej

My pleasure .

Unfortunately, such a list does not exist. Keep in mind that the descriptor are the same ones you would have by using the official Land Rover diagnostic equipment.

Cheers

I have found that inserting the key and pausing for a second before turning on gives me less communication errors.

I also got lots of these codes and was quite worried. Don't be. The advice above is good. If in doubt, copy down the codes, then ask IID for their advice. I've found them very helpful and very prompt in their replies.
