Voice Commands - no sound

Hi, I've recently bought a lovely 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 and am now trying to sort out a few little bugs with it. When I had it the voice commands were working, but now I find that the commands work but I get no sound.
So, "record note" brings up Record Note on the dash display and "read note" brings up Read Note on the dash. Cancel brings up Input Cancelled but there is no sounds at all. Anyone any idea where to start?

would you like to explain how?
If I select voice commands and use the volume control on the steering wheel controls I see no difference.
Radio/nav volume is fine.

this is in the owners manual and i assume it controls the voice recognition volume, failing this try a battery disconnection..

Thanks but no joy.
I think it is a wiring problem as when I use the phone (hands free not handset) people can hear me but I can't hear them. I'm not sure where the telephone and voice recognition audio connections are. The connectors shown in the rave manual don't seem to be in the connector information i.e. C0983

On the touch screen, press and hold the music symbol (bottom left) and they pop up. Ian

It's a non touch screen with the original telephone system, not bluetooth.
If I say "volume up" then I see that the volume is full, but still no sound.
I have unplugged the main plug in the voice recognition module and replaced it to no effect.
Anyone know where the output of the voice module goes next?

Had a fine day today and solved the problem!!
When I removed the old 10 disc dvd changer I found a small plug with two wires looping 4 contacts. As I didn't know where it went I put it safe in the garage. Well, now I know where it goes. On the cable that plugs into the Voice Recognition Module there is a small plug as well as the much larger main plug. The small plug carries the audio from the Voice Module and the Telephone. Putting the looping plug that was still in the garage back into this plug restored the Voice Commands and the audio for the telephone - great result.

Excellent.

If you download RAVE, there used to be a link in the wiki, it will have all the wiring diagrams you should need.

That said, you may already have it if you know the connector numbers.

Sorry, just re- read your first post any you've already got it.

At least it's working again.

MJ - yes I have RAVE, but I've found that the wiring diagrams are great once you understand them, but I've found that a lot of the entertainment equipment connectors are not listed in the connector section. For instance, the Voice Module has connector C2136 the output of the Voice Module goes to connector C2066 then on to C2045 then on to C0981 then C0395 and finally on to the Radio input on connector C0983 and C0098. I can only find C2066 and C2045 listed. Am I missing something?

I don't think so. I remember trying to follow a feed once and not all the photos of the connectors are listed.

There may have been an update or something ? Not seen one.

Not sure why they would have them on the diagram but not pictured.

Suppose we'll have to do what we can with the information thats there. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
