PUDDLE LIGHTS VOGUE ON A 54 PLATE

Hi everyone

i have purchased some blue led bulbs upgrade for my puddle lights. POWERFULUK.COM;

i have watched there video on how to remove the puddle lights from a sport whereby with a small screwdriver, the whole module just pop out from under the light housing.

i have assumed the vogue lights do the same thing but when i try to lever out as per the video, it seems just the very thin lens is moving and seems very difficult to remove.

i have already cracked one lens trying to pull it out so i have stopped.

can anyone explain how i change the bulbs on these models, just incase i am trying to remove something that does not actually come out in the manner discribed

thank you

bob

The procedure is described in the Owners Handbook.

" insert a small flat bladed screwdriver under the forward edge of the lens to lever the light unit out of the door"

They are very fragile but do come out as described above.
The screwdriver goes under the indent on the long side of the lens.

THANKS for the reply, i have tried that by putting the blade of the driver up at the outter edge but all that pops out is the very thin lens ? i have tried both sides and already cracked on lens. the same thing happened on both sides, ie just the lens is lifting. do you think i am not putting the driver far enough in?

The clear plastic lens is the complete fitting. The bulb is mounted on the rear of the lens.
Once you get one out you will see how flimsy they are.
I just put the blade of the screwdriver under the lens edge, placed another screwdriver under the screwdriver at right angles to it and levered the lens out.
Mine popped out relatively easily.

OH OK. ON THE VIDEO AT POWERFULUK;COM THE SPORT puddle light is a bit different. they place a screwdriver under the lens at the end and push it up and then it releases a tab and the whole unit pops out which houses the lens and the bulb.

ok i will carry on and try to get the lenses out

thats for the replies

best wishes

bob

just to make sure we are talking about the same puddle lights, i am talking about the light that is up under the bottom of the wings mirrors, not the lights in the lower side of the door.

i assume also that it is just the lens that also comes out of the mirror Question Whistle Embarassed

We seem to be refering to different puddle lights Laughing I was refering to the ones in the bottom of the doors.
Never looked at the ones in the mirrors, looked too difficult to do without breaking anything.
Are you sure you don't remove the whole mirror cover to replace the bulbs?
Nothing in the Handbook.

HI NO I think looking at all the other in the had book that the lens comes out the same way as the others? but it is a very thin flimsy lens i must admit.

i will ask to see if anyone has actually replaced the bulbs on the wing mirrors; perhaps a re wording of the post might be in order Laughing

but thanks for the replies

regards bob
