have you got one of these? could be useful

I have ordered a dash camera, and also a dummy fuse, so I can run it from an ign supplied 12v so I never have to remember to switch it on or off. ie wire it from a 12v dc plug hidden away. BUT should I want to override it and switch it off for some reason, I needed a switch that's convenient. and I remembered I had seen this item before. So, I ordered one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230911059661?ssP...1439.l2649

It fits on the front overhead console, and replaces the sunroof manual wind blank cover. and is the normal whitey/beige colour. it has two typical swithes (latching) with wires. I haven't done the wiring yet, as I haven't had a whole day just in case it gets into a long job to wire it up. but pointing this part out now for other owners/.
my reasons are I will be having a second camera on me the driver. -and sometimes I need to be a little naughty.
my friend has just been prosecuted by plod for being on the phone when he definitely wasn't, -at all! but in court, his explanation was slightly flawed in legal speak, so the court went in favour of the lie told to court by mr plod etc. -and £700 down, he's an angry, beaten man! I have been 'rushed up' to for resting my head against my arm on the (open windowed)door top in traffic. coz I was bored!

yes I do, they are really small, and could (in use) interfere with the 'aim' AND I'd have to reach over to the passenger side to turn off the one on me. this sort of makes it much easier. I think its fairly priced too. and 'retro-removable'..
-is that a new word I've just invented?

retro-removable. -adj. -able to be restored to its original state, upon future fashions and technological development.

you can tell I'm bored waiting indoors for a parcel delivery. Rolling Eyes
I would post a picture, of it fitted, but I trod on my SD card reader, and i've had to order another.

i see, another solution could be if the dashcam has an auto off, most do, then pull the power plug out ..

I have one of these already fitted as power for my RSE. You will have to replace the whole panel to fit or cut it on?

mine is in. but i cant show you a picture yet, but yes, it just pops straight out and in. just use a mans thumb nail to get round the edge, and pull.... its clips are on the sides (4) so pulling from the front or rear will relieve it. this is for manual winding of the sunroof i believe with that cranked allen key we all wonder abount in the tiny tool roll. i think its purpose intially is for driver control of the overhead dvd player option???
