Not sure on the td6 box but the genunie part on the 6hp26 on the tdv8 is a filtrans unit. Gen wasnt expensive from dan. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

oe filter for the gm box is filtran, last time i priced one from lee at duckworths in kirton was over £100. heres a link to some one selling the original filter and gasket for half the cost.

just checked rimmers for a rough cost to see if they have come down since i last priced them and it would seem they have, 75 including the vat retail now.

after i had my gearbox rebuilt the guy who did it condemned the type of oil gm specified and said its only a standard dexron 3 and should really be a full synthetic instead, since the rebuild i run mine on the oil he recommended and to date is nice and smooth. although it should be as it only been on just over a year, only time will tell. if i where you i would be inclined to get some full synthetic dexron oil and flush it a few times then keep it on the good stuff, synthetic oil in my opinion can only help the gearbox and hopefully keep it trouble free.

i thought dextron V1 was for the 6 speed box, millers recommend millermatic atf sp lll ws code 6213, this oil is getting to be a minefield.

This is the correct oil. Texaco ETL-7045E. But from a list that was about some time ago Dextron VI can be used if licenced by GM. Dextron VI superceeds all previous Dextron's ( III, IV etc )
