Wifey has just told me there was a report in the newspaper that Muslim employees are refusing to sell alcohol in Marks & Spencers

Still, look on the bright side. At least Christians aren't obliged to go to church 5 times a day.

I think it is that employees can refuse to sell Pork or Alcohol to fellow Muslims on the basis that it is against their religion. I dont think it applies to sales to non muslims. could be wrong though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Some refuse to touch it at all - which they extend to even touching the bottle - which was the M&S story.

Apparently that's OK & they usually give them jobs that mean they don't come into contact with such offensive things

In the M&S case, they were busy, so the sensitive person was asked to jump on a till - a big deal was made of it though - it's only the same as having an under 18 kid on the till who can't sell you alcohol.

I agree, but why put someone who has those beliefs in a potentially embarrassing position, such as this?

M&S have already said it was a mistake made under pressure.

However, not much different from the kids I regularly get served by having to ask a grown up for permission - a blown up story out of nothing IMHO

No matter what beliefs people have I respect it but also feel sorry for them being led blindly by something that's nothing but fantasy.

Seems a story over nothing, once again constructed media bs to provoke reactions from non Muslims to create more needless boundaries.

Bah..... Try living in Northern Ireland and going to M&S or Tesco etc to by a alcohol. For staters it's cordoned off from the rest of the store and then when u want to pay for it you gotta find a checkout with a green tick above it!
