Wifey has just told me there was a report in the newspaper that Muslim employees are refusing to sell alcohol in Marks & Spencers

Yep, I'm with you Mick. I take the view that they either want the job or they don't.

LOL, just thought. What it must be to have to go through life never knowing just how good some sweet belly pork is with a few pints of Leffe to wash it all down. |

Some refuse to touch it at all - which they extend to even touching the bottle - which was the M&S story. Apparently that's OK & they usually give them jobs that mean they don't come into contact with such offensive things In the M&S case, they were busy, so the sensitive person was asked to jump on a till - a big deal was made of it though - it's only the same as having an under 18 kid on the till who can't sell you alcohol. Big fuss about nothing IMHO |

Because you disagree with someones beliefs, doesn't mean you can't respect them. |

I agree, but why put someone who has those beliefs in a potentially embarrassing position, such as this?

No matter what beliefs people have I respect it but also feel sorry for them being led blindly by something that's nothing but fantasy.

Bah..... Try living in Northern Ireland and going to M&S or Tesco etc to by a alcohol. For staters it's cordoned off from the rest of the store and then when u want to pay for it you gotta find a checkout with a green tick above it! |
