Must be based on L405, i've sold my L322 in Ireland and it lost soooo much. It's nowhere near as depreciation proof as it was, but in the uk they are going for more.

I doubt it's based on an L405 as they haven't been out long enough to measure depreciation...

So, that's only around £30k they will lose then....  Previously..
Vogue SE TD6
Defender 90 2.4
Defender 110 TD5
Vogue 3.5 EFI

Well, if it's the L322 they base it on, that seems a strange one to me as I think they appear to represent fantastic vfm, retailing for so much less than when they were new

No matter what new car , soon as you drive it off the forecourt it depreciates

In most cases I'd agree with that statement however in Dec 2008 I bought a brand new Golf R32 DSG for £19k, kept it for 12 months, put 10,000 miles on it and sold it for £21.5k.

It was one of the last of the R32's, was in Glasgow one day and a guy asked me if I'd sell it just after I'd parked it in Buchanan Galleries, gave him my number and a fortnight later he rang me and offered me £21.5 for it!

Was amazed!

It's hype to get headlines. The 405 is holding its value in the first year of launch as did the Evoque in its first year of launch, then normal depreciation rules apply. Except the 405 is £20k-£25k or circa 30% more expense than the equivalent 322 so the eventual 405 depreciation will be higher in real £'s that the 322. MY23 D350 HSE

They are Alan. Still miss mine, the noise, performance and handling made it quite a special car.

Mine was for sale recently on Pistonheads and I was tempted to buy it back as this guy had lost over £10k on it and it had still only done 30k miles.

Problem is we've got more cars then we know what to do with at the moment so I couldn't really justify another car.

The R doesn't do much for me as it's lost the appeal of the 6 cylinder.

It's a 4 cylinder turbo model now so much more like the GTi rather then the R32 unfortunately
