I've got a mk6 gti 2.0 tsi which is a great car but the r32 golf will be the last golf to have such a big engine and it will always be desirable, I've heard the engine is a bit heavy for the golf to handle. Have a look at a mk6 r now that's a tool

I looked at the Mk 6 R but it was the smoothness and the noise of the 6 cylinder in the R32 that sold me on it originally, the bigger 6 cylinder also has torque all over the power band unlike a turbo charged 4.

I much prefer the characteristics of a 6 pot over a 4 pot which is why I didn't buy a Mk 6 R.

It's got more power and more poke then the R32 did but not for me unfortunately.

Weight wise you knew there was a big engine up front but with the 4 wheel drive on it the handling of the car was superb. It was nicely balanced and you could literally throw it anywhere and get away with it.

I bought it in the summer on a whim but the wife loves it so it's staying.
I try not to drive to often as i wouldn't have a licence if i drove it every day.
I've got to be honest its very quick 0-60 5.7secs, the handling is awesome.
I use it on the weekend and the odd day to give it a run.
Its another low millage car 30k 2007

Performance figures for it sound almost identical to the R32.

I still miss mine but when that guy made me the offer I couldn't knock it back. Will have another some day Thumbs Up 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

I think SDV8 is the L405, the TDV8 is the L322. Happy to be corrected

Happy to correct you... Thumbs Up

Quote from the report - Models in Vogue spec fitted with the 4.4-litre SDV8 engine perform best – holding on to 62.1 per cent of their list price after three years and 36,000 miles. “

The L405 hasn't been in production for 3 years. Very Happy

Engine is only called SDV8 in the L405, it's a mistake.

Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black

"Car" magazine, December 2013 issue 617 did a feature on 'Our favourite used cars of 2013, 15 used car bargains you must drive'.

Featured is the 'VW Golf GTI (Mk5) 2004-2008' with the question as to why?
'The best hot Golf ever!... With almost 200bhp on tap from lusty four pot and a tight yet beautifully forgiving chassis VW finally did justice to that badge'

Therefore, doesn't this seem like a potential bargain from a garage I have heard has a very good reputation (I would have thought between £7100 and £7500?):

They are indeed - all worked out before they even get to a customer for the financing residual value calculations.

Well i never. A statement based as fact on predicted future values of a motor vehicle three years down the line. Who'd have thought. Mr. Green
