Pano. Roof

I have been informed that the pano. roof adds around 52kgs. to the vehicle weight. Sitting this weight on top seems counter productive to both stability and the 'lighter vehicle' ethos.

Given the period of production without pano. availability, is this a useful sales presentation, or will going without help reduce body roll and improve fuel efficiency to any noticeable extent.

I've ordered MY14.5 SDV8 SE with pano. FS spare wheel and rear locking diff. + 21 inch wheels.
Combined I reckon that adds say 110kgs, may be more? So more weight = more fuel, etc.
Is Pano. Roof really that good to have!!

thats a bit more than the weight of an extra passenger, does that really concern you re the fuel..surely if you can afford a brand new l405 ,then this shouldnt concern you.. ... - .- -.

They aren't light cars in any specification so chasing that end is pointless. The roof makes a big difference to the feel of the interior, particularly as it feels more confined than the L322 anyway - I would just try to forget the idea that you're carrying around the equivalent of a roof box all the time and order it.
