Alston Headlining

I see that for MY14.5 on the Autobiography alston headlining is the default choice and leather is a no cost option. Has anyone got or seen one with alston as I have not seen this finish before? I assume it is similar to what I had in a Porsche 911 a few years ago and I am inclined to think the leather headlining is more suited to the RR rather then alston. I assume that as they have made it the default configuration it is probably cheaper.

It's like fake suede and looks pretty out of place in a cabin dominated by leather. I would definitely go for leather headlining.

That's what I was thinking.

I had a look at the Alston headlining in a new Sport they had in the dealer. Making this the default choice instead of leather on the AB has got to be to reduce cost. I did not like it at all and I shall spec the leather option.

Good idea. Just out of interest, are you waiting for 15MY?

No I have a late Feb/early March build MY14.5. If I wait for a MY15 its going to be close to another year from now and I don't want to wait that long. Besides you can go on waiting for ever. If I waited for MY15 for some unconfirmed changes to the infotainment system then there would only be rumours of something else for MY15.5 and so it goes on. You have to draw a line somewhere. I have already pushed back my order once.
