OBC has changed to French?

Can't find any way of resetting it in the menu- anyone know? The Nav is still English, but the traffic updates are French.

Didn't that happen in Hartlepool in an incident in which a monkey was hanged?.

During the Napoleonic wars, a French ship of the type chasse marée was wrecked off the coast of Hartlepool. The only survivor was a monkey, allegedly wearing a French uniform to provide amusement for the crew. On finding the monkey, some locals decided to hold an impromptu trial on the beach; since the monkey was unable to answer their questions, and many locals were unaware of what a Frenchman may look like, they concluded that the monkey was in fact a French sailor. Just to make sure, the animal was thus sentenced to death and hanged on the beach. The vertical part of ships mast he was hung from is still visible on the beach between the Pilot pier and the Heugh.

Cheers Stan

I should have put "sensible replies only" - then again, it's in the In Car Electronics section so shouldn't have to

In summary: -

Quote:
1. Ignition switch in the OFF position.
2. Press and HOLD the right instrument cluster button.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the on position.
4. Wait about 10 seconds. The next language will be displayed.
5. Hold the button until the desired language appears.

I tried this with mine - didn't get a language option anywhere. I'm assuming they're talking about this button?

When I've had it in the past I've disconnected the navigation cd/dvd, then you do get the language selection option - then reconnect, but this is a right pain in the ar$e to do and if there's a shortcut that works - we-hey.

Unbelievable they don't have it in the menu, and even more that it defaults to French. I mean, how come? It's not even alphabetical, nor is it a French car, and even the electrics are not French?

Maybe at some point a French dealer worked on the car and while working on it the mechanic may have change the default language settings just to make his life easy and then forgot to change it back ?????

On the MY 2006 you can change it the installed languages through the touchscreen, isn't there a similar option in the pre 2006 models ??

Could it be that little fingers played with the head unit ?? I know if I leave anything electronic near my 3 year old, things "magically" seem to change Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I tried the push button reset trick but it doesn't work for me either.

It's going on Testbook next week for the FBH so I'll ask the Indy to reset the menu as well.
