in car camera dvr

so i sold my rather large in-car camera dvr and decided to get a smaller unit..i ordered and received this compact unit for £30 all in from a UK ebay seller...

its a 720p jobby which i intend to stick on the front screen behind the rear view mirror with the double sided tape provided...the single wire will be fed into the headlining and down the near side pillar, under the tread plate and then under the seat to the center console area...it has no view screen so i will wire to my RSE which will allow me to view the recordings and also let rear seat passengers have a live view of the road ahead...

i'll post some pics when its up and running ... ... - .- -.

That's how I wired mine Thumbs Up

Headlining was OK, but I couldn't get the wire down the side of the dash, so fed it through the glove box - details here and also cabled the video out to the RSE.

question for you Alistair, i gather your blackvue lens has movement up and down and not side to side, so because yours is on the left of the mirror does it view the path/pavement more than the incoming traffic on the other side of the road ... ... - .- -.

Can't get the upload working Big Cry

The camera is now a bit lower and central - it is more obvious from outside, but completely behind the mirror from the inside.

That's a great price, way better value that the Blackvue (not knocking it as I have one) and has the advantage of being black and not silver so should be less obvious Thumbs Up I'll be interested to hear your thoughts after you have installed and tested. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB
Gone 2011 Bournville TDV8 VSE
Gone 2008 Black Canadian HSE LUX

i connected it to the ranges power and put the video output into the ranges video in and had a fairly decent pic on the rse..its only 720p compared to the blackvues 1080p but it should be enough. ... - .- -.

Hopefully it automatically records every time it powers up - the avert seemed a bit ambiguous.

Blackvue also has GPS so records speed & displays route/position with maps Thumbs Up
