How to Upgrade Headlight Unit

Without having the full 2010MY conversion, is the below linked image of Googsy's upgrade (I think this is an upgrade before his full 2010MY conversion ) about as good as you can hope for please (didn't want to hijack the actual foglamp thread that Googsy's post was on)?

Not into blinging cars up but... Are those headlights on Googsy car original units with LED rings added... If so, is there a wiki come novice idiots guide of tools needed and how to because they look very smart and 'right'?
