Battery Charging Warning

Not sure if I've committed some sort of schoolboy error but went to retrieve my Vitesse this afternoon and it wouldn't start. Had some jump leads with me and boosted it off the SC. all went well but after disconnecting the leads and packing up a fault appeared. Battery Charging fault and the battery light has stayed on. Manual says 'seek qualified assistance urgently'

I'm a little surprised that this has happened... But have I cocked something up?? Regards

first thing to do is to disconnect the battery, wait about an hour then reconnect...dont forget to turn the steering wheel fully left then right.
hopefully this will rest everything......... ... - .- -.

With the engine running check your battery voltage, make sure it's around 13.5v to 14v.
The battery light will come on if the battery voltage (charging circuit) is less than it should be. You may have just drained an already low battery by jump starting another car, it might just need topping up. Worse case, the alternator is Censored .
