i can see these dashcams being the next 'smash window to get the sat nav' craze...with some costing £150-£200 thats a very tempting item to steal.... ... - .- -.

I have mine hard wired and fitted high behind mirror so it is not instantly visible - I would hope the laminated side windows and alarm would deter thieves and always back into parking spaces to get a good view

I did contact the police and surprisingly they took it seriously explaining that if I hadn't had such a clear video it would have been my word against the other driver and as such they wouldn't have persued the matter.

This has prompted me to get a dash cam installed. My car is old and Switzerland is quite safe so I only have 3rd party insurance. I'd rather not get caught out by some tw@ though, so I've been looking at this site and am going to get a couple of the cameras he recommends (one for each car). They're £67 and the video quality seems pretty good. |
