In the Land Rover yes, all the time, in the FF you get less waves I have found, although oddly, I get random waves from people on the side of the road in local villages, I don't know who they are!! Discovery 4 HSE

Landrover owners wave to acknowledge a shared inner pain! Cause they know what you are going through!

Here in Switzerland bikers wave at each other. I'm too polite not to but I find it irritating. |

I tried this on holiday. Driving through Glen Shiel I saw a 60 plate Vogue SE approaching so waved; he waved back. So I then waved at every other FFRR I encountered for the rest of the trip. There were dozens of sightings over the next 5 days, and not one of the others bothered to wave back! Won't stop me waving to others though......

In the defenders it's rude not to wave ! Wouldn't bother in the FFRR. Tried it, no response. You just end up looking a bit "special". Previously..

I get a lot of waves in the old Mini... funniest was when a whole primary school swarmed me at kickout time in the middle of shropshire the one time... made me look a bit creepy but they loved it! The FFRR is too polarising to get away with a wave IMO: some people just automatically hate you sadly. It's like the red trousers effect (and yes, I have been known to wear those!) |
