Nothing personal chum, honest! Thumbs Up

Just trying to decide wether it's worth getting them done, if indeed my mystery noise turns out to be caused by one, or both. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Didn't think it was personal Smile I just get annoyed at myself for not being able to provide anything useful to
help you.

Do you have any idea how much the EGR work would have cost? Mine might be playing up Whistle

There's only 2, so that makes £400, which leaves £2,800 for labour? Even by LR standards, that's a lot! Whistle

EGR's are around 4 hours or so to fit. Have done plenty of them. Due to where they are located on the engine, I would advise having both replaced at the same time.

They are off the engine at thos point, but they go down either side of the oil ilter housing. You can just about make out the pipework at the rear of the engine bay where they attach too

Injector covers have to come off, the engine wiring loom needs unplugged from everything and pulled out the way, inlet manifold has to come off, coolant pipes have to be disturbed and disconnected from the EGR coolers. The whole job is a bit of a PITA, but after a few sets, it all becomes 2nd nature Thumbs Up

If you need any more help, let me know. Have done plenty of them on both FFRR, and RRS

Wow that's a great reply. I think £2800 is correct I needed other work doing at that time so i'm certain £2800 was EGR and another £400 was for the other work I needed.

I'm still amazed at that. If Mikey says 4 hours, £2800 = £700/hour!!! Shocked

Even assuming £400 parts, that's still £600/hour! Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
