Hello!

Hi all,

Just bought a 04 Vogue Td6 in Giverny Green! 1 owner from new, FLRSH and everything works (touch wood!)

Best car I have ever driven & so I'm salivating at the thought of a TDV8!

No real plans for mods as the Mrs drives it in the main but have already bought genuine rubber mats & that mahoosive boot liner thingy as we have dogs & did not want to get the inside of the lower tailgate dirty. Anyone got any tips/ideas on how to properly & securely fasten it or is it only meant to be a temporary thing & should we have got the rubber boot liner instead?

I live near Sevenoaks and am a fairly regular member on lro.com too, having had umpteen Landy's in my 19 years of motoring (where has the time gone!)

Cheers & looking forward to any hints & tips as I strive to avoid the dreaded gearbox failure!

Have you got the huge plastic tray liner with the non-slip (but too small) insert?

I find mine doesn't move about at all.
But in hindsight the rubber mat, like a floor mat, would have probably been better for me...

No it's a waterproof nylon type fabric that covers both the lower tailgate when down & also the rear seats when folded flat too. It affixes to the car via some nearly useless plastic suckers. I'm a little disappointed as it's a Genuine part too! Confused

I'm thinking it was a mistake TBH, but we wanted to protect the bottom tailgate from wet/muddy paws!

I know the type, yes they can move about a bit unless you are loaded with stuff. Good for clearing rubbish though.
Isn't that quite shiny?
I have visions of a dog skating about in the back as you go round corners... Shocked

I'd get a rubber offcut and make up a mat for the inside tailgate which you can throw in the back when not in use.
Then get the rubber boot mat.

I have the OE rubber mat and ontop of that the hard plastic liner, with the too small non slip mat.

I only have both cos I inherited one for free, but the hard plastic one is great for containing dirt and muck in the shooting season. I put a piece of vet bed on the non slip mat for the dog.

There used to be a genuine parts lower tailgate cover to protect the carpet, last seen on the P38 but they stopped making it. Mind you, it was hard plastic and dogs scooted off it, not practical, just wipe clean-able. Discovery 4 HSE

I'm convinced so stand by to see the massive boot guard thingy on sale here soon!

Cost the sharp end of £100 including a 15% discount off the Stealer - ouch!

You live & learn I suppose - anyone got a Genuine rubber boot mat lying around???

Welcome piecost76

Question

Can you not fit the heavy LR rubber boot mat onto/inside the boot liner to prevent it slipping around?

(I bought a tidy secondhand LR rubber boot mat from eBay for £40 a few months back - have seen plenty of them on there since)
