United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Autobiography 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver
Tale of 2 Dealers chalk and cheese

2 dealers 2 different attitudes

same car same issues

took my car to a main dealer Stratstone Newcastle for a few warranty issues and an MOT
got treat like a piece of S**T Censored and the car came back looking like it was a skip wagon that had done the paris/dakar full write up else where but needless to say ill never go back

Closer to home is a smaller service dealer Team Valley Land rover ( was an independent but now fully LR approved service centre)

offered me a courtesy car which the main dealer did not ( i declined as i work away and it would just stand at the door but it is nice to be offered)

same problems they looked at the car agreed with me with the faults and they spoke to LR about the warranty
2 of the items not covered knocking ball joint and supercharger inlet manifold blow ( whilst i do not agree with this and this will be the subject to a separate small claims court claim) they kept me informed all the way.
the ball joints would have been covered if Stratstone had done it and the 3rd issue that Stratstone couldnt be bothered to look at was done.

they offered to do the work and as my son has his own garage i sought his advice he is doing the ball joint and said the supercharger inlet looked a nightmare

they priced the inlet at £225 all inc vat I said ok go ahead

i got a call 4 days later saying they were having issues as the gasket came in late and the job was taking longer than expected ( my son was right) did i want a courtesy car which i declined but a nice offer any how.

the mechanic rang my son on Monday as i was uncontainable all day he said the job was an absolute nightmare and took about 6 hrs and now the SC belt was squeeking and he was going to replace that.

my son rang me late Monday night and relayed the story as usual and befitting my forum name i went off on one calling TVLR all the cnuts and they were just looking for more money blah blah bl;ah f F Censored F F

my son picked the car up without me knowing and probably to save me killing the Mechanic and the dealer

price £270 inc new belt and a new horn car came back valeted and looked like new
he said the mechanic said the book price is 3hrs labour plus parts and he would never ever do one again it took over 8 hrs in total after changing the new belt and snapped bolts

WHAT A BARGAIN three cheers for TVLR Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down

i Think LR Extended warranty is C*@p by the way and will not be renewing but Liam from land rover has been very helpful and seems a decent bloke Growing old is compulsory Growing up is optional
