03 RR, no side lights, no warning message

had one side light out on my 03 RR for a week or 2 (i know, i know), ordered 2 replacements from ebay as recommended on here (the canbus free LED ones), went out to fit them and didnt have either side on when I started her to see what one wasnt working, car was running, switch was on its first setting 'sides' but neither were on, but i didnt get the usual 'ping' sound when i started her, and no error message?

Could this be the swtich faulty, or possibly both bulbs gone? Not had a chance to swap the bulbs yet as I'm working away this week, so just doin a bit of research til im home

LED bulbs are diodes which can only pass current in one direction i.e. they are polarity sensitive. I would suggest your first task is to remove the bulb from its holder and place it back having turned it 180 degrees. If you look closely at the bulb. It's terminals should be marked + & -. Hope this helps. Should've been old enough to know better...doh!

has been said that if one bulb goes the other is sure to follow, happens with xenons apparently...

if the rear sides are working then i would suspect both fronts have failed and the only way to find out is to replace.. ... - .- -.
