Whilst driving about an hour ago with the driver's door window down, I pressed the button to auto close the window. There followed a noise like the glass snagging on rubber, the glass ground to a halt about 1" from the top of the door frame and then I could hear the sound of the window motor, motoring on. A vertical crack appeared from the bottom of the glass (roughly about in line with the outer wing mirror casing) and the crack then got bigger.

Can you use some form of plastic tool to try and ease the rubber seal out and back in place and then firmly grab the glass with door open and hand on either side of glass to try and lift slightly to relieve the pressure. It may then close but you may also break it further but its going to have to be replaced anyway. |

I think I would leave it for the dealer to see or make lots of pics and then try to close. I seem to remember that you are not very close to the dealer ?? If so then driving like that is not great noise wise and you have to probably tape up the gap when you are driving on a rainy day. You must be glad that it is still under warranty I bet |

I'd be inclined to try lubricating each of the slide seals inside and out on both sides of the glass and see if you can get the glass to drive down. Possibly assisting it by hand.

My wife has started to make jokes about the lack of availability of mine (3 weeks waiting for parts with another week coming). She is comparing it to Ducati and in all honesty the reliability of both is very similar |

Ha.. To be fair, there's no logic to my 'patience' with this car... and it's not even mine! |

Why not call Autoglass out? The glass if dead anyways... Its their job to sort these things... Im guessing the window wont move due to being stuck! |

Window moved itself to the half open position today... switch motor just whirring when pressed up or down and window wedged in position.

Let us hope it is just clearing up the issues now and then have years of "maintenance only" ownership. That's the way I see it and I keep hoping it is coming soon |

I thought all modern cars were equipped with anti-trap sensors to prevent the motor working against a potentially injurable source? I wonder why yours didn't react that way?

Thanks all... the Service Manager says he's experienced regulators failing before but not this scenario.
