They do turn off after 15 or so mins, I think there is a few options in IIDTool regarding interior light control too

The tailgate interior light swtch is an integral part of the tailgate lock motor.
I don't doubt if you broke into the wiring adjacent to the motor it would be possible to fit a manual switch.
The alternative would be to break into the earth cable from each light fitting and install a manual switch.
Can I ask why you would want to?

i believe you can switch all the interior lights off by double pressing the switch above the rear view mirror.. ... - .- -.

David: Well I just wanted to turn it off for those occasions when you have to give it a nice cleaning or just when you are deciding where all the cargo should go - like on vacations Laughing or even when you just need a good table.

But if its that complex... Its better to wait 15 min! Laughing

Stan: I've tried that, but the switch you mention its only for the interior lights not the boot, and you have to press it at least for 3 seconds continuously Thumbs Up

By the way, 90% of the times I use the RR on daylight. So, just to avoid battery drain (panic), I have disconnected all the lights (with the above procedure). Has anyone done the same? Am I beeing too psycotic about it? Rolling with laughter MML

Why not just replace the tungsten bulbs in the fittings with leds, minimal current drain then.
You wouldn't need to worry about being psychotic then. Smile

That's what I did Thumbs Up

I find it amazing though that my Mercedes interior lights are light controlled... I.e. they only work in the dark Thumbs Up

David, I thought about that, but what about the light color temperature? Dont they give the RR a "refrigerator" look? What do you use?
Craig, thats a great solution!! MML

I used leds similar to these.
Unfortunately I can't remember what length of bulb you need for the tailgate light fittings. It's really a case of taking each of the bulbs out and measuring the overall length of each and then ordering. Plenty available.
You don't need to worry about CANBUS led lights.
Yes it does look like a fridge with the leds on at night. Laughing

If you push the lock on the upper tailgate to the locked position it should turn the tailgate lights off ( it works on mine ) then just press the boot release button to un lock before you close the boot.
