Maybe it used to have spot/fog lights - judging it has a picture of a fog light on it..... Considering it's a non standard switch I doubt anyone here would have a clue.

I was thinking that it maybe used to have spot lights. Just thought I'd check incase it was a factory option, the button is very OE looking. Thanks anyway, are you serious about not having autocirculating on causing problems!! I was only sitting in the car and was checking all the button bulbs were working, normall I have it just facing the window |

Auto recirc senses pollution in the air and closes the exterior vents - this is fantastic and should just be left on A all the time.

As Dan says the Air Conditioning should be on at ALL times. Make sure both lights on the control knob are on!Just because the A/C is on does not mean its cooling so set the Temp at your desired heat and then choose how cool you want the facial vents using the thumb control in-between the vents. |

I might be dumb, but I have read and re-read the handbook and I still cannot grasp the difference between one light being on and two being on in the dial - please please can anyone explain in easy to understand language without overly explicit terminology |

I believe one indicates the system is on and the other indicated the Automatic Climate Control is on. Turn the blower dial manually and you lose the Climate Control Light! This is what my wife keeps doing so I have to beat her regularly

One is a dot which is auto fan speed and one light is a dash which is auto vent direction. If its really hot inside when you get in if both are on auto the fan speed will start fast and point to the face vents and feet to cool you quickly. As it detects the temp come down it will slow the fan speed for you. On a cold day it will start off slow and direct heat to the windscreen, then as the engine temp warms up it will direct the vents to screen and feet and speed up a little. Hope this explains it for you? Dan |

Dan / Gary, many thanks - could never figure it out from the H/B - I just assumed one was the A/C and the other recirculation. Too many options confuse me! I only just found that my lights look round corners - thanks to this forum - and I have had L/R and RR since 1973 |
