I may be mistaken, but I believe the coolant caps are all 'stock' BMW ones that were fitted to every BMW, with no difference (apart from maybe price, if they were trying to sell you one for a 7 series, rather than a 3 series) |

I'm not sure that the number relates to much. On steel caps there is usually a pressure rating but never seen it on plastic caps. If the pressure build up in the system is too great the valve will let pressure and some coolant out. By rights it should not reach that pressure so the problem could lie elsewhere. |

The 140 is for the TD6. The petrol needs the 200 (280 maybe can't remember). If you're old cap was 140 rating that's why it's leaking. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Seem to remember that discussion- there are 140 and 200 caps (the 280 cap that people talk about is actually a 200 with a bit of plastic retained from manufacturing process in the centre 0 which makes it look like an 8 (inside the cap the pressure rating is repeated).
