Hey all...

I've just swapped from my '09 SVX to a '56 plate S/C... and it's lovely! It's great being able to hold a conversation at 70mph!

Picked up a 36k miler is lovely condition with a ful LR service history. I've though about doing the usual 'facelift' thing, but I've decided that it's in such good condition, that I'm going to leave it well alone but treat it to a full professional paint restoration/valet. It's been cared for, but badly polished so it's quite 'swirley'. There are a handful of stone chips and minor scratches that'll get done too..

It needs a couple of things replaced: the clips that hold on the rear door weatherseals and a rear reflector, but that's it!

Other jobs to do: get it fully serviced, including the g/box cooler replaced and #thoroughly checked over, fix the 'venture cam' bracket/cradle as it's annoying me... Update the maps... sort out a Bluetooth update... Polish the door strips... Sort out the rear washer blockage...

The other thing is the ignition key... when the key is out, the mechanism makes a kinda weird 'buzz'.. will ask them to look at it next week...

The buzz may be due to the mechanism becoming sluggish due to build up of dirt/corrosion etc. The lock operates the steering wheel lock and the cable and/or mechanism may need a bit of WD-40 or the likes  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Where do you actually squirt the WD40 to do this job? Discovery 4 HSE

congrats on the SC....i like the idea of the paint thing..... is there any recommendations about who to use? either in london or near ilkley in west yorks?
