If it's just France it's compulasary to carry a Warning Triangle and adjust your headlights - I think there is a lever for this behind the headlight housing.

You need a Hi-Vis for each person in the car not just one.

Yes, I got told off by a chinese french lady, probably because I was standing inbetween the cars when we were in motion. It takes about 5 seconds to do each one, the little slider doesn't feel like its doing much but I didn't get flashed by angry drivers while I was there!
