I change wheels on RR nearly every day and I know how to do it with only a few pumps off a trolley jack as explained several times. (Offroad Height)

I use my bottle jack at extended height now and only takes a few pumps to get the wheel enough off the ground to pop it off Smile and thats with the MT/R's on Smile

My other car is much better for this.
Put car at full height, put jack on it at jacking point until you feel the bite of it trying to lift some weight, Set car into low/service mode, all wheels start getting sucked up into their arches and the wheel is simples to swap Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

Whilst not wishing to hijack this thread (it would seem to have run its course), the jacking point is a rectangular recess to match the factory jack. My trolly jack has a cup which doesn't match the jacking point shape at all.

What do you folks use between your trolly jack cup and car jacking point to avoid and damage to the car because of this difference? 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

Don't use a random piece of wood or metal ... I did... Car fell off trolley jack and Censored the running board. Big Cry Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

@ Baron, there is also a block with circular bottom that fits a trolley jack cup you can buy on eBay.

FWIW in all my years of jacking cars with my trolley jack I have generally used a 4 - 6" piece of 4x2 between jack and jacking point, there is enough "give" in the wood to "fix" onto both. For the FFRR I have a smaller block of wood that fits inside the jacking point to spread the load. The key is to have a good solid base on which to rest the jack, and then to get the jack in the right place, allowing it to "move" as the geometry changes. Watch the contact point as you jack up to be sure all is stable, then as soon as you safely can, get an axle stand under the appropriate place on the subframe. .
