Can you just replace the entire hub? On other cars I've just done that in the past as it's cheaper than getting new bearings pressed in. 2006 FFRR 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

This is not a "factory made" hub, like I use on my trike where you can't replace the bearing at all. This is a proper (big) bearing pressed into the hub. Replacing the whole hub is possible, just a lot (?) more expensive. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Do the drive shafts press straight out of the hub, or is there a knack? I recent had my hub and drive shaft out as 1 and the garage couldn't get the drive shaft out of the hub with a press and penetrating oil and 48hrs. Although I have since decided I will not use them again after seeing a gearbox change they done on my brothers van. MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

You will probably find you now have a knackered wheel bearing now... They don't like presses and hammers! |

I need to change my CV boot gaiters, I think I'll just remove the hub plus driveshaft complete and try replacing them without removing the driveshaft from the hub. Going to beinteresting... |
