My MOT guy doesn't like my rattling front brakes, seems every year one side or the other has a rattle, so set out to effect a repair in preparation. This required removing the splash guard, so I set about dismantling the front brakes. For the photos I have used the left side (passenger side RHD). I was also able to resolve a seized on disc retaining plug (see here).

I have just done something similar by cutting 6 disc with a 35mm hole saw in a piece of mild steel I had lying around but I didn't remove the splash gaurd I just slid 1 disc behind the gaurd and 1 in the front and sandwiched the gaurd it now solid |

Did one of the front guards on mine last week with large ‘repair’ washers on the back and smaller ones on the front. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
