Question about the switch to AJV8

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a definitive way to spot whether a Rangie has the AJV8 around the 2005 changeover?
I was under the impression that if the car has the touchscreen nav then it also has the AJV8 but now I'm not so sure.

You can tell by looking at the engine IIRC. The BMW engine sits higher up and looks like this:

Yes definitely best to check under the bonnet Thumbs Up

PS: Some Touch-screen cars are BMW engined.

I should have pointed out that I knew what to look for under the bonnet. I'm well acquainted with the M62 from several BMW 540is I've had.

So, the only way to be sure is to look under the bonnet. Cool.

Or check the gearbox. 6 speed on the AJV8. 5 speed on the BMW unit.
I think there may also be a very small difference in cc. Might show up on a DVLA plate check. Graham

Easier still all factory 2006+ facelift cars are AJV8 the "hybrid" Touchscreen BMW cars are all non facelift.

1. Factory Facelift = AJV8
2. 6-Gear Auto = AJV8
3. JAG engine in bonnett = AJV8
