Driver's Door Lock Actuator

Just when things were going well, my driver's door lock actuator has become inoperative. All the other door locks work and I can lock and unlock the door manually but it needs to be replaced. I have an aversion to the local stealership and find the replacement process to be well within my limited automotive capabilities so I have searched the net and have been unable to source the part.

I now ask the collective to provide me with the part number for said actuator and tell me if there are any other options to the OEM part.

Thanks in advance.

Very easy to change, I took mine off twice today in an hour and it was my first time taking the truck apart.

If you want pointers let me know but I watched one of the videos from powerfulluk about taking door mirrors off and that details the door card removal. The lock has 3 torque bolts on the door jam, feed the internal door handle cable through the door, unplug lock mech and slide down, now disconnect the cable that's attached and it will come free form the door.

When refitting get your head right in the door and look up, make sure you locate the bar that comes from the exterior door handle key entry point and make sure you physically engage it into the slot on the lock mech. You can't really see when you slide the lock mech up so its all done blind and by feel but it was easy enough. This is why I did mine twice today as I missed the key bar.

Let me know how much a new lock mech sets you back as I need one too

Actuators *might* be repairable. I've seen posts where someone got one fixed by replacing the motor with a cheap off the shelf unit. The cost of used ones and the ease of sourcing and replacing makes repair seem like a needless trouble, however. I've replaced all 4 on mine over the course of 3 years. At 30 quid a piece used vs 150 new it's a no-brainer.
