Just when things were going well, my driver's door lock actuator has become inoperative. All the other door locks work and I can lock and unlock the door manually but it needs to be replaced. I have an aversion to the local stealership and find the replacement process to be well within my limited automotive capabilities so I have searched the net and have been unable to source the part.

Actuators *might* be repairable. I've seen posts where someone got one fixed by replacing the motor with a cheap off the shelf unit. The cost of used ones and the ease of sourcing and replacing makes repair seem like a needless trouble, however. I've replaced all 4 on mine over the course of 3 years. At 30 quid a piece used vs 150 new it's a no-brainer. |
