Ipod in Aux

I`ve just bought a lead from Maplins that`s a 3.5mm jack to red and white phono. Plugged it into the Aux in rear and set it up on the touchscreen at the front via Aux selection. Result = no sound!

I must be doing something wrong or the Aux input isn`t working.

Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can play my Ipod/Iphone through the speakers.

Thanks

Me thinks the Yellow phono socket is for sound, so you will need a cable with 3 phonos on the end.

If it is just sound, get alead and plug it in the Aux socket

I`ll try it but I`ve always thought Yellow was for composite/video.

Do you mean try the socket to the right of the coloured sockets which is just labelled AUX? It looks like a jack input??

That's the one. Alot easyier, just 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack I think required.

Yes you're right yellow is for vid.

Tried the 3.5mm jack into the aux socket today. It worked but sound only comes out of centre front speaker which sounds c**p.

That aux lead from ebay looks interesting.

Delsilencio, have you bought the lead and does it make all the speakers work?

Neil, don't know where you are with this now, but I've just picked up my 2006 TD6 today and tried the ipod in the Aux (3.5 jack). All works well and sounds good, so it seems your problem may be a fault of some sort. Obviously you still have to control song selection from the ipod with this method, but it works fine through all speakers.

Hope you get it sorted.

I use the Aux socket 3.5 jack to jack to play my Ipod, Blackberry and ITouch through the Logic7 system with pretty good sound quality and Volume on my TDV8.

hi
i have just bought an 08 vogue with the ipod thru the aux jack
sounded horrid also had to change trcks thru the ipod which was in the glovebox..
hunters guilford have just fitted for me the official landrover ipox/mp3 kit
you plug the ipod into a lead in the bottom glovebox
put the head unit into cd and the 5 icons come up as mp3
you can the control everything on the ipod thru the headunit and steering wheel controls
also sound superb and doesn't invalidate your warranty
best of luck
this is the most cost effective solution to get the ipod to work efficiently
oh, i forgot,,, it also charges the ipod

my dealer hadn;t even heard of it!! Then when I showed them (its on the official LR website) they quoted £200 for the kit and 3 hours to fit!!

"Ha" I said- found one on fleabay for £150 and fitted it myself - not the easiest job - but not too bad - took me 1.5 hours - and I'm a novice!! All the stage by stage instructions (witgh pics) come with it (and are also on the LR Owners website- and now its fitted it is really great and a massive improvement on the aux in solution which was quite awkward IMHO...

I think the correct part number is LR004806 and its for 2007 - 2009.
200 sounds like a good price, I think they are normally closer to 240 Thumbs Up
