New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

Back on topic, our Landcruiser has grabhandles in the top corner of the door opening. They are a rigid type and looks like it is bolted into the pillar and the roof "girder". They are quite handy when hauling yourself into the back. Maybe have a look for those ??? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Found this online, not on a LC but on a Montero.

If you use Google Images and type in Montero Grab handle, you will find some more pics. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Had a look at the link but think I will look into mounting them with the standard type handle albeit more of a challenge...

No optional extra red carpeted mounting block or deployable sidesteps for the Royal FFRR then? Would be much more elegant for her madge than sliding off the rear bench while holding a grab handle............ 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

@Rich86

The chances are you could drill the centre post and fit Rivnuts to it.
Trouble with Rivnuts is they may work loose with the continious pulling.
Personally I would take the trim off and tack weld a steel plate strip to the post about 4mm thick then drill and tap the plate and the post behind to take the bolts holding the handle. Then refit the trim.
You will need to fit a spacer thro the bolt holes in the trim to get a solid fix, a stack of washers would probably do this.

The Queen probably doesn't have sidesteps as they get in the way off-roading!*

* It's more plausible they can't make armoured sidesteps ...

Stan it's the mother-in-law - she's elderly and yes side steps are an option that I'm looking into...

reading these posts it sounds like the grab handles might not be an option and side steps would probably benefit everyone .. ... - .- -.

They do stick sidesteps on armoured ones but its PITA job as usually the mounting plates tend to be covered up by plating so require re-working and then usually shatter into a gazillion bits during testing.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The sidesteps do help but a grab handle still helps a lot, even with sidesteps. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

if fixing the grab handles is to much of a problem ,you could fasten a strap on some kind to the front seat base .. ... - .- -.
