reasonable P38?

Got a mate considering this as a cheap weekend toy and am going to view tomorrow with him. Am not up to speed on the P38 myself, anything to watch for?

Wil do the usual electrics checks and confirm the paperwork is as stated, but seems reasonable price if it checks out..

United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Oslo Blue

Don't know to much about them. I know they suffered from porous blocks and slipping liners. Have a look over at www.landyzone.co.uk as that's more P38 focused. I know the guy who runs grease monkeys (Landrover specialist) searched high and low for the lowest spec manual one he could find as there plagued with electrical faults. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Nice just the sort of toy I would like (having sold mine five years ago!)

Seems air suspension has been sorted, but check that out!

Air Con/HEVAC doesn't get a mention, can be a Censored to repair, there are some O rings that go ££-£££, and the blend motors £££ also go south, (both of these well tucked away in the depths of the front facsia), alternator can also pack up around this mileage £££ (My worst and only breakdown in 3 years).

As Rob said the V8 suffered from some porous blocks and slipped liners, but if it has got this far, it is probably OK. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Cheers lads, will be interesting to see it tomorrow. For the price, not expecting much, but it'll be interesting to see tomorrow... '08 Audi S6 Avant 5.2 V10 with Milltek non-resonated. Vrrrrrrmmmmmph

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Tonga Green

To me that is expensive. Judging by the centre console the Nav has been removed, you may not use it but it's nice to have, and I'm always wary of a P38 that has been modded in any way where the electrics are concerned.

It also has a hideous interior that will be very difficult to shift on. Unfortunately with the tan interior there is a whole mish-mash of plastics going on - look at the caps on the arm rests etc.

As already mentioned, check that the AC works. P38's are very susceptible to a damp interior. The head lining will sag and the BCM will fail if the AC doesnt work.

The 4.6 suffers from less problems than the 4.0 and don't get me started about the "pourous block" nonsense. Unfortunately, they don't have a coolant level sensor and the "wrong sort" of person tends to buy them, rag them around and then complain they've overheated and slipped a liner.
