I am happy with my monitor etc.anyone know what's the best to go for ?
It will be used for iTunes, general stuff like music and documents [/b]

i'd go for a laptop..connect your monitor to it and you can have ebay on one screen and the forum on the other, and its portable.... ... - .- -.

Sounds odd I know, but I upgraded my old dell to Windows 7 and it seems to run much faster !

Certainly fine for iTunes, a bit of web browsing and the odd document

It used to drive me mad and now seems fine.

Problem with a mouse on a laptop is I would still be sitting at my desk so I feel a desktop is better … I hate sitting on the sofa with the laptop and trying to move the mouse about

A laptop with the extra connected monitor and a proper mouse is the way to go. You don't have to watch telly with it! If you really really want a desk top I would try ebuyer.com . They do lots of desktops on their own, so you can keep your own monitor etc. Quite cheap as well. Previously..

What's the budget bigl as I'm sure I can find something for you Smile

If you want it to last a few years I'd go for a windows 7 pro or ultimate installed machine,
At least 4gig ram, ideally 8gig and an intel core i5 or i7 processor. Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Thanks for the info on what to buy. I'm not wanting to spend to much … would £300-£400 get a decent tower ?
I'm happy with my keyboard etc

I'll see what I can find you in that budget Smile
Does it need to be a tower or could it be a small form factor type machine? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

For what you want it for get a cheap one with a big hard disk and plenty of ram. Even cheap ones are plenty powerful enough these days.

Try a refurb! replace your hardrive with a new 1TB or above and bang in some more memory sticks, install the ubutnu 12.10 op. system (free) all for about £120. (SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITH HEATED SEATS)

I've still not bought a pc yet and I am now thinking about the laptop idea.
Anyone suggest a decent one that will have enough memory for iTunes, movies, songs etc. ?
