Have finally got the mic working - now just having trouble with the voice recognition!

The ULF is definitely capably of voice recognition (it's MIT SES) but when I press the voice dialling button on the steering wheel, it just tries to dial the last number. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

You will need to hold the button down, not just press it. You should hear a bleep through the speakers.

If it doesn't do anything, you will need to enable it on the ulf. I used navcoder to do this. Not sure if you can do it with the iidtool yet.

A BMW dealer may be able to do it, but will change. You'll get navcoder and a cable for less cost, and can use it for other stuff.

Have a search for navcoder if you want to know more.

Thanks - I've held the button down and still nothing. I'll do a search for Navcoder and see what I can find.

Have downloaded Navcoder and have bought an OBD cable in the hope that that will work....

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11400.m1842...AGB%3A3160

I have connected the cable to the car (the connection is in the cubby hole on the driver's side, about half way down on the right), but when I start up Navcoder, it doesn't read anything (although it tries).

Do I need a different cable to work with Navcoder? I have read about the Ibus interface which I need to wire up myself - is this the only option? Or can I get the OBD cable to do the job for me?

That looks like the same cable as mine. Should work as it is a BMW specific diagnostic cable.

I have issues where the USB has issues on my laptop etc.

I sometimes have to pull the USB out and reconnect it with navcoder running.

I flattened the car battery first time I tried to get comms going, so I'd work with the engine running.

Sometimes I have to turn the car on and off with the laptop connected.

It's a pain, but will work.

Others don't have issues so I just put it down to maybe a dodgy connection on the car connector.

JE Engineering had issues getting the ecu's to talk, so I think my issue is car, rather than cable.

It's just a matter of getting the comms going on the USB..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Russia 2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Bonatti Grey
troubles with the sound from speakers

Hello, everyone.
First of all, i'm sorry for my english.
And,... i'm from Russia, and decided to get the bluetooth in my car.
So, i bought - ULF module from E83(X3, 5-th gen)
And, i bought a mic.
I connect them all to my car and, of course, i re-pin the 54-th connector.
I get the pair with my iphone.
But i don't hear the sound from the speakers.
The caller - hear me, and i don't.
And the sound from the radio is not going down when the phone is ringing.

Do you know what it could be? may be you have some ideas?
Thank you.
