I don't use the auto-dim function. I put a bit of black insulating tape over the sensor, as it dims too much and I can't see a damn thing behind me!

I'm not so keen on a separate monitor Stan, but since the mirror has one built in, I thought it looked quite elegant.

there should be a spare input on the sat nav screen so you could plug it in there but i dont know how the camera picture would be accessed .... ... - .- -.

I managed to do that kind of thing on my E60 BMW. It needed a separate interface box and also needed spliced into the CAN bus, so I could activate it by hitting the i-Drive button. It also worked by going into reverse, since I had fed a reverse camera into the box, but I don't think I want to go to these kind of lengths these days.

I couldn't find a spare input - I can use the rear monitors, but not the front one.

I dont really see the need to view anything on the sat nav monitor, if somethings happened its automatically saved on the sd card, and last thing you want to do is alert the other party in an incident to your evidence by showing them which is the only reason I can think to want to play it over the monitor. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!
