I am more in favour of taking the unit apart for a few reasons, you can fit the knobs properly and clean the circuit board that has the led's on, they can get quite dusty, you can clean the little fan in side that controls the climate control, you will be amazed how dirty these get, my one was totally seized

Awesome writeup Daveo, might give it a go before trying to fit them over the old ones. Tom

its the same seller i bought my ones from, if you ask he will have the complete knob with dial and centre switch, it was after i told him what i wanted them for that he started breaking the switches down. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Having tried to machine the new knobs it looks like they will only fit over the old ones if you machine the old ones to a smaller diameter. Thus exchanging the knobs is probably an easier option.

hi its not that bad of a job ,more fiddly then technical.you can give it a good clean while you are doing it...one thing to point out is that the chrome and rubber knobs on the front panel [dash] are different from the rear panel knobs and wont fit..i have a set from landrover parts and the would not fit, luck would have it i got my hands on 2 front ones and made a one perfect one, so you need to check to see if they are from the front or rear panel.
