New style Silver and Rubber Heater Control Knobs

They have multiple sets, once this listing is bought they usually list another.

You will need to mod them to fit over the existing plain knobs. Tom

How difficult is it to modify them?

More specifically, what's involved and how long?

Very tempted if it's a DIY numoty job. Si. <This is my name.

Cam Tech Craig did it too.

I have stripped out the inner plastic rings and am in the process of filing down the inner metal (waiting for the dremel to arrive). I think you might neet to cut through one of the holes ( to flex it more) in order to stretch it over the existing knob as it looks to be the same diameter (so a very tight fit).

The sat nav knobs are a little smaller. Tom

I am more in favour of taking the unit apart for a few reasons, you can fit the knobs properly and clean the circuit board that has the led's on, they can get quite dusty, you can clean the little fan in side that controls the climate control, you will be amazed how dirty these get, my one was totally seized
,i still need to do my height and stereo knobs but they look far better than the plain black ones, so if any one does there make sure to take some photos..

Awesome writeup Daveo, might give it a go before trying to fit them over the old ones. Tom

Having tried to machine the new knobs it looks like they will only fit over the old ones if you machine the old ones to a smaller diameter. Thus exchanging the knobs is probably an easier option.

How easy is it to take the knobs off the old module Daveo? Tom

hi its not that bad of a job ,more fiddly then technical.you can give it a good clean while you are doing it...one thing to point out is that the chrome and rubber knobs on the front panel [dash] are different from the rear panel knobs and wont fit..i have a set from landrover parts and the would not fit, luck would have it i got my hands on 2 front ones and made a one perfect one, so you need to check to see if they are from the front or rear panel. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
