Fiesta, Clio, golf... There are so many to choose. But if it's clean and cheap to insure it will obviously be easier to get rid of. Maybe invest in some good tyres for the winter as well. Previously..

Why do you want to have a winter car, is there no summer car or is the summer car too "nice" to use in winter ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Would go for a low mileage Golf Diesel automatic. They are pretty much bullet proof and not a bad drive. There are a few on Autotrader. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Not sure, it protects the engine and is also popular with older people who are more likely to buy these type of cars and less likely to have been owned by a young "Hamilton wannabe" so they should last a bit longer MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I'd just get something cheap in the lower bracket around £500 to be honest. With winter it can be hard to sell cars as people save for Xmas then reel in after it as well. The less the spend the smaller the loss risk as well. An if it comes to the worst and something goes pop, well it can be weighed in cant it FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
